Smarkia launches new website: a resource and knowledge hub for energy efficiency

At Smarkia, we're launching our new website with one goal in mind: helping the people who manage a company's energy find the information they need to understand their consumption and decide how to improve it. It's a place to look up a question, see how the technology applies to your business, or run a first estimate with your own numbers.
This project was shaped by the needs our customers bring to us. That's why we've made more room for practical content and for the information that helps you evaluate a solution — from how to start measuring to how to connect the equipment you already have installed.
Nonconformity is part of our story, and it guided this redesign too. Changing the look and feel wasn't enough for us — we wanted to build a website worth coming back to whenever a question about energy efficiency comes up.
Practical resources to understand your consumption
If you want to better understand what's happening across your facilities, the energy measurement guide walks through how to monitor consumption and track improvements over time. To clear up some of the terminology, SCADA, BMS, or EMS: Which System Does Your Business Actually Need? breaks down what each technology does and how they can work together.
The blog also covers real-world applications of artificial intelligence and the issues that come up in day-to-day work — like how artificial intelligence solves data loss in solar plants— a way into energy management through a concrete, everyday problem.
Content tailored to every sector
Every business has its own set of conditions. A factory needs to protect its production process; a school adjusts HVAC to schedules and occupancy. The new site gives each environment its own dedicated path:
- Real Estate: managing energy use and comfort, with a focus on how they affect operating costs and asset performance.
- Retail: coordinating multiple locations and controlling loads like refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting.
- Industry: energy optimization that accounts for process conditions and the cold chain.
- Education: energy use adapted to schedules and space occupancy.
- Renewables: data quality and production monitoring to catch performance losses.
A first estimate with your own data
If you want to run the numbers for your own case, you can use the savings calculator. Its five modes let you adjust the inputs and see the estimated impact of different improvements, depending on your facility type.
The tool shows the assumptions it's using and lets you change them. It's a first, rough calculation — confirming actual savings still requires analyzing real data from each facility afterward. That distinction helps set up a conversation on more solid ground.
Reports and guides for a deeper dive
The reports and guides section brings together documents at different levels of detail. You can open each resource's page and request it through the form:
- 2026 U.S. Office Energy Benchmark Report, focused on the U.S. market and the levers for improving building operating performance.
- Building Integration Guide, on connecting Smarkia to existing building management systems.
- Connectivity Catalog, listing devices, protocols, and integration options.
- Cybersecurity Overview, covering the security architecture and how data is handled.
- Verdantix Smart Innovators: Energy Management Software 2025 report, the energy management software evaluation that includes Smarkia.
Explore the platform and its real-world applications
We've also dedicated space to explaining how the platform works. The connectivity and cybersecurity pages answer questions about compatibility and data protection — two things that both facility managers and their IT teams need to check.
You can also see how AI is used to automate adjustments, how faults are detected and prioritized, or what the platform offers for tracking and reporting on energy management. The goal is to help you figure out what fits your operation and what you need to check before taking the next step.
Our case studies add real-world context. The Mercadona case study shows how to manage different utilities across a network of locations. The Klépierre case study walks through the challenge of bringing together energy and operational data across a portfolio of shopping centers. Each one offers a window into a specific need and a specific way of working.
Start with what you need today
The new website is available in both Spanish and English, and it's open to anyone who wants to learn about energy efficiency or explore how to improve the way they manage their facilities. Start with whichever resource answers the question you have today.
And if what you need is to dig into a specific facility, you can book a working session with our team. Bring your case — we'll go over what information is needed and where it makes sense to start.
